WSW Refurbishments has recently restored The Old Forge, a historic residential property in Suffolk. Following significant flood damage to the ground floor, the company was entrusted with restoring the property to its former condition. Given the historic nature of the building, the team has been meticulously preserving its charm and period features while carrying out modern renovations.

The comprehensive project encompassed both internal and external refurbishments. Key aspects of the work included replacing damaged flooring and removing outdated fireplaces. The team will also be undertaking external patio works. Internally, the team installed new kitchen worktops, replaced doors, and redecorated throughout the property to revitalise its interiors while maintaining its original character.

In addition to these services, WSW has also carried out extensive timber and joinery repairs, ensuring the structural integrity of the building. Modern upgrades, such as installing a new oil heating system, have been incorporated to enhance the property’s functionality without compromising its historic appeal.

Due to its rural, residential location, the client underscored the importance of minimising disruption to the surrounding community. WSW have prioritised reducing disruption and inconvenience throughout the works, carefully managing deliveries and maintenance schedules to avoid inconveniencing local residents.

Colin Cheek, Managing Director of WSW Refurbishments, shared his enthusiasm for the project, stating, ‘I am incredibly pleased with our progress at The Old Forge. As we approached the final stages of this restoration, it has been extremely rewarding to witness the transformation of the property.’

WSW Refurbishments is a specialist refurbishment company based in the South East. Alongside residential work, WSW also specialises in the educational, commercial, and industrial sectors.
